Welcome to Durham Music Academy. I am Bryant J. Sylvester, a graduate of Berklee College of Music with over two decades of professional performance and teaching experience. My mission is simple: to help dedicated music lovers break through confusion, master healthy piano mechanics, and discover genuine musical freedom.

MUSICAL FOUNDATION

Formed by Rigorous Conservatory Training

My musical journey began with deep classical study and expanded into contemporary harmony, jazz improvisation, gospel traditions, and vocal arranging during my years at the renowned Berklee College of Music.

Over the past 20 years, I have performed on stages across the country and mentored hundreds of pianists from varied backgrounds. That extensive background taught me a vital lesson: true musicianship is not about rigid memorization. True musicianship is about understanding the language of music so you can express your authentic voice with ease and clarity.

My goal is to help each student build a strong musical foundation while developing their own unique voice, whether they want to play classical pieces, improvise, perform, or simply become a expressive pianist.
